You Don't Have To Feel Old

If you feel old, ask yourself this:

"What am I doing to age before my time?"

Feeling young is not just a state of mind. It is a state of being.

We all age at the same rate: One day at a time.

The question is simple:

How will you spend your day tomorrow?

Silly Calf Trick - A Tip From Jon Benson

Silly Calf Trick ~Jon Benson, author of 7 Minute Muscle

A lot of guys email me and ask me how I developed my calves.

Actually I got a bit lucky. I have decent genetics for calves. Not great though.

So I had to improvise as well.

I have a "silly calf trick" that works wonders. In-between any calf training set you are doing, pick up a set of dumbbells and walk around on your toes for a minute. Just do this in-between each set. The pump and burn will be incredible, as will your calf development.

Take Control of Your Aging Process

Aging Gracefully

Aging does not have to be the same as growing frail. Keep a good and positive attitude, manage your health, and make sure you exercise...be active.

Did you ever wonder why some aging persons become frail, while others remain active and involved?

There are still many that are active and robust well into their 80's and 90's. I know a few of those myself.

AHA Recommendation Omega-3 fatty acids
benefit the heart of healthy people,
and those at high risk of — or who have — cardiovascular disease.

What is their secret? Staying active and taking control of their health by taking preventative steps.

So, what do I mean by frail? Well, this can involve: weight loss, becoming tired fast, slow pace, and weakness. Fraility can be caused by many issues, including diseases such as heart attacks, stroke, cancer, inflammation, even side effects from medicines. And, so can a negative image of aging! The mental attitude can have a big influence.

Try to Stay active, exercise (the right way for your age), get involved, and have a good attitude about aging.

Don't smoke. Go for regular checkups. Keep control of your numbers: Sugars (glucose), cholesterol, high blood pressure.

Take vitamins...make sure you consult a professional for these.

Do gardening, reading, walking, swimming, and go dancing! Be optimistic about life and yourself!

Tip For A True Power Walk

A True Power Walk - Tip from Jon Benson (fit over 40)

If you can jog without it hurting your knees, try a walk/jog trick I learned today. Take a small notebook or recorder with you. Jog for a few minutes to get your heart rate up. Then walk for 2-3 times the period you jogged.

During your brisk walking period, allow your mind to enter a creative zone. You'll find you come up with solutions to problems, great ideas, and more. Write them down or record them during the walk phase. Then jog again. Repeat, and you have a great cardio workout plus a super-productive brainstorming session with your self!

Cardio Tip! Lift Your Arms High

When you do your cardio, lift your arms high -- swing them over your head if you can. Watch what happens to your heart rate!

It will soar. Your heart has to work harder to get blood to flow "up" -- and when you do cardio there's not much above the heart.

Arms are the key. Swing them up as you walk and you'll improve your cardio conditioning and fatburning all at the same time.
